Casey Wins in a Romp!

Scranton’s native son incumbent Democratic U.S. Senator Bob Casey won re-election against Republican U.S. Representative Lou Barletta.  The race was a must-watch for political observers eager to see if President Trump’s popularity could carry his close ally Barletta across the electoral finish line.  In the end, the former mayor of Hazleton could not gain traction in his race against Pennsylvania’s affable senior senator.

First elected in 2006, Casey earned 2,792,437 (56%) votes to Barletta’s 2,134,848 (43%).
