Heads understandably turned at last week's meeting of the Scranton School District Board of Education: two plainclothes investigators from the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General were on hand to discreetly take notes. Why were they there? Informed observers believe it is linked to the investigation requested by the school board back in January. Senior U.S. District Judge William J. Nealon, Scranton, passed away Thursday at home surrounded by his family. His wife of 70 years is the former Jean Sullivan. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late William "Terry" Nealon and Ann McNally Nealon. He was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and attended Miami University in Florida before enlisting and serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1942 to 1945 and attaining the rank of first lieutenant.
