In remarks to supporters, Cartwright acknowledged that large portions of the district are new to him.  He said, “It’s about 52 percent new territory for me. But you know what, these are places I know, places that my whole family knows. Wayne and Pike counties, these are places I practiced law in.”

Cartwright, formerly a local attorney, was first elected to Congress in 2012.  Chrin, a businessman who relocated to Pennsylvania for this years midterm races, was a first time candidate for office.
