30 Sep Boland Accuses School Board of Graft, Rally Planned
Nearly two years after the expiration of the last one, the Scranton Federation of Teachers and the Scranton School District remain deadlocked when it comes to the adoption of a new teacher contract. The teachers union, led by Rosemary Boland, released a scathing statement today on Facebook that accuses district leaders of graft, mismanagement, and adopting policies that hurt students.

“Presently, the teachers and paraprofessionals of our District are being handed a ‘bill’ generated by financial mismanagement and malfeasance,” read the statement. “On both counts, the program cuts and contract cuts, the Scranton School Board and administration are holding the wrong people accountable. It is simply unfair and unjust. The SFT will continue to fight to restore the programs our students lost and will continue to fight for a fair contract for our membership.”
Members of the federation and those that support their position in contract negotiations are being asked to attend a rally at the school district’s administration building this Friday at 3:00PM.
